Pepe Jeans SS08 : The Beauty and The Geek

I hadn't posted the Pepe Jeans ad campaign, just because there was a lack of proper pictures and the one that did pop up was quite dissapointing to be honest. So, after accumulating most of the shots here they are - the Spring 2008 campaign for Pepe Jeans.

I'm personally not a fan of a lot of Photoshop and the use of gradients but the overall concept is interesting. Perhaps if the editing team had left the pictures as they originally were, I would have been more keen on them. But I do like the fact that the styling is very akin to Darias tastes. Kelso also makes an appearance!

I uploaded a behind-the-scenes video to youtube.com (at the end of the post) which was a small accomplishment in and of itself. It would have been interesting to see some shots with Ashton, but Daria pulls off her solo campaign quite nicely. The full campaign can be seen below:

Tsum Continued...

New Tsum ads are here and I have to say I'm warming up. They're definetly not the Chanel campaign I was hoping for but it is a beautiful photoshoot, nonetheless.

Vogue Nippon March 2008

The HQ cover scan has been released for Daria's first cover of the year of the year - thanks to the scanning of Dieselmax at tFS. Sadly, there is no accompanying editorial, as there often is not with Vogue Nippon covergirls. But they do publish behind-the-scenes shots from time to time so there might be some new candid shots!

Versace SS08

Finally! After days of patiently waiting we have the Versace pictures - in HQ. Despite the fact that blowing pictures up to ginormous sizes that run the risk of showing every single imperfection, Daria still looks amazing. This picture below is my favourite - the Versace runway was spectacular this year. Simple and streamlined yet it still had that touch of high glamour.

The Second Cover...

It's been a very full couple of days with a Vogue Nippon cover, Daria finally coming back to the runways for Versace and a new studio shoot in Vogue US. Now, thanks to melfrey at tFS we have the second cover of 2008 in our hands. It is a reprint from her Vogue UK editorial, but I can't complain. Vogue Hellas picked out a beautiful shot for the cover, and unlike Vogue Nippon, they don't have a "G" covering her face!

Ta-da! The first cover for 2008. The cover is pleasantly nice albeit for the G framing the face though. It's not the most flattering of text placement.

Versace FW08

In the word's of Tyra Banks, damn this girl is fierce. Daria opened and closed the fall winter Versace show with three looks altogether. Lately, the Versace girls have been dissapointing me - the Vlada's and Snejana's dont quite fit the Versace mold - and it's a very curvy one (in terms of the fashion world). But Versace and Daria looks like a beautiful friendship...

Daria's new editorial 'Magical Thinking' is not as magical as I hoped it would be ... more like no imagination at all. I've seen Daria do these studio shoots with the grey background much too much.

W Magazine March 2008 : Pin Up

Along with a much awaited Vogue Us editorial this month Daria appears in the March 2008 issue of W Magazine. "Pin Up" is Mert & Marcus artistic take on lingerie. The pose is one of the most provocative of the group but seriously ... the girl can do no wrong. If it was Lara Stone ... raunchy. Natasha Poly ... awkward. Ali Stephens ... controversial. Yet, Daria keeps it as art.

David Yurman SS08

Along with Natalia Vodianova and Kate Moss Daria stars in the new SS08 David Yurman campaign.

Despite the fact that I'm a bit biased because it's Daria, this campaign is simply gorgeous. Daria, Kate and Natalia perfectly complement each other. The ad is shot by Peter Lindbergh and features his signature black and white photos.

The Carnival Continues

Prior to partying in the Rio festival, Daria spent some time at the Ong exhibit with artist Vik Muniz. The two caught a plane to visit the exhibit, sponsored by Lancome. Daria is known for her charitable work for the brand, and she often pairs with the beauty business to help out in charities or to work with children. She's a model and a humanitarian!

Backstage With Daria in Paris

To combat the virtually non existent Daria news (apart from the rumors in Rio) I've decided to post these gorgeous backstage pictures. Daria is pictured at Stella McCartney in my favourite outfit of the show, in a leopard Lauren Bacall-esque Valentino, and backstage at Sophia Kokosalaki. These photos were all taken backstage at the Fall 2007 shows in Paris.

Daria was recently seen out in Rio for the carnival festivals, along with a very suspicious man and as usual - her cigarette. Tato Malzoni, former boyfriend of Daniella Cicacerelli was seen along with the Canadian supermodel in the festivites. Really though, I think this just amounts to a bunch of gossip!

Vogue UK March 2008 : Trailblazing in Peru

In the March 2008 issue of Vogue UK Daria and Lily Donaldson star in a travel editorial shot by Mario Testino. It is called Trailblazers and set in the beautiful country of Peru.

Sadly, it is quite cliche with dancers and every single South American stereotypical character you can think of, but it is Testino for Vogue so a deep perspective is not really expected. The traveling tourists theme has been done too many times, and often it is the atypical Caucasian girls lost in their Prada and Jimmy Choos.
