Five's Company

I guess this photo all but confirms Daria's editorial in the September issue of Vogue. I don't remember such anticipation for an editorial - ever since we saw those candids in Venice in April its been a long five month wait!

As for which model makes the most appearances in the September issue ... I'll have to go with Daria. On the campaign front she has Celine, Diane Von Furstenberg, Salvatore Ferragamo, Isabel Marant, Lancôme, and Maiyet ... deep breath. If she doesn't have the other girls beat in editorials then she certainly does in ads!

Speaking of DVF, the campaign video for the fall campaign has just been released. And how gorgeous is it? If the Celine ads launched a bob phenomena then I think this campaign will do something for the seventies disco ringlets. I'll hold off on posting the actual campaign until we get all of the images but for now enjoy this video!

Vogue US July 2008 : Adult Education by David Sims

just came back to a quick trip to the computer from watching soccer (Croatia vs. turkey -still 0-0!). it seems just in time - the new pictures from the vogue us editorial have been posted. its very standard vogue us fair (gray backgrounds, jumping models....) but this time I'm not complaining. actually I'm quite pleased (considering the stupid stuff shes had to do in the past)
anytime that a vogue us editorial gives me more than one image to love then its OK by me
to be honest i was prepared to hate this but out of Daria's usual work in vogue us some of the pictures make the editorial interesting, like these ones i featured. Daria is so strong in these and i envy the fact she can jump so high in stilettos (Linda evangelista pose off anyone?). she plays her characters so well with being strong yet feminine at the same time - she sort of reminds me of a superhero in these

Vogue Brasil May 2008

So far, the cover count this year is up to three. And the third cover is not bad at all. Daria is quite soft and pretty. The cover is not too exciting but it should be applauded because they're not going for the sexbomb Daria look that sometimes turns out to be too off. It is very dégagé - quite Daria. Thanks to xPedro at tFS, pretty soon I'll post the HQ pictures of the editorial!

I couldn't help laughing at the an H&M billboard in New York featuring Daria... a painted Daria. Some were saying it looks half Liya Kebede. For me it's more of Planet of the Apes. But I have to give the artists credit for trying!

Vogue US April 2008: The Shape Issue: "Free Fall"

Well here it is. The Shape Issue, Anna Wintour's take on all sizes with athletes and supermodels (and her love for Caroline Trentini :rolleyes:) Content wise - one of the best issues I've every seen. Daria editorial wise - not one of the best editorials I've ever seen. Sure... she's stunning. But that's about it.
It's not the greatest art direction and easily forgettable. I however, I do find it very funny. Seeing Shaun White off of snow and his skate board, posing next to Daria in a woman's fashion magazine makes me giggle. And oh that hair! (scans thanks to Faith Akiyama at tFS)

Daria in the Shape Issue

Thanks to sweet_rus at tFS we have a sneak preview of Daria's new editorial in April Vogue's shape issue. I'm not a fan of Annie Leibovitz's fashion photography - I always feel like her potential is lost when she is photographing dresses or shoes. However, her personal photography is something to be reckoned with. If you are interested, you should really check out her book "A Photographer's Life"

Now, back on track! In the new editorial Daria poses along with "The Flying Tomato", snowboarder and skateboarder Shaun White. I spy some Spring Summer 2008 Balenciaga in the background, so this should be interesting...

The Second Cover...

It's been a very full couple of days with a Vogue Nippon cover, Daria finally coming back to the runways for Versace and a new studio shoot in Vogue US. Now, thanks to melfrey at tFS we have the second cover of 2008 in our hands. It is a reprint from her Vogue UK editorial, but I can't complain. Vogue Hellas picked out a beautiful shot for the cover, and unlike Vogue Nippon, they don't have a "G" covering her face!

Vogue Nippon March 2008

Ta-da! The first cover for 2008. The cover is pleasantly nice albeit for the G framing the face though. It's not the most flattering of text placement.
