V 59 | The Swimsuit Issue

Daria appears in the Summer 2009 issue of V Magazine photographed by Mario Testino in I was pretty dissapointed by the cover. Daria looks like a Barbie doll - cold and shiny, but no expression. However, the accompanying pictures are not bad at all. Especially the first image featured here, the closeup in black and white. Daria is beautiful and manages to pull off a sensuality not many girls in this issue have.

Daria's cover for the Summer 2009 issue of V Magazine ... ugh. After such a promising preview this cover is such a mess. We had so much faith in you Testino! And then you put out a cover this tacky - it just screams Elnett and Rupaul's Drag Race.

In the Swim

Remember that swimsuit extravaganza in V Magazine I posted about back in April? We finally have our first pictures of the editorial, and a preview of one of Daria's shots.

I actually quite like this image compared to others in the preview. Considering its Testino and swimsuits this image is a lot less vulgar than I expected it to be. And much better than Daria and Testino's last attempt!

Daria for H&M Summer 2009

According to glamurama.com, all of the top models (Gisele Bündchen, Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, Elle Macpherson, Eva Herzigova, Natalia Vodianova, Carmen Kass, Daria Werbowy and Isabeli Fontana) will be in a "massive editorial of 45 pages about summer in V magazine ... [by] Mario Testino".

V magazine often does big powerhouse editorials with an agency's best girls - the last one that comes to mind was in V#53, aptly titled "Power House".

I'm not the biggest fan of Testino's work, but his recent work in Vogue UK was surprisingly good so hopefully he can carry on this streak!
