Video : Equipment Fall 2014

In addition to directing, shooting and styling Equipment's Fall 2014 campaign, not to mention starring in, Daria was also given free reign over the French clothing brand's video campaign.

Daria teamed up with friend Kenny Jossick to shoot the campaign near her home in the Irish countryside. It's not the first time her home has been opened up to the public eye, but the personal touches in this video make this campaign much more interesting. Her dog Strawballz even makes a cameo!

Fall 2014 Campaign News

Good things come in threes! Daria's landed her third Diane Von Furstenberg campaign in a row and her third overall for the brand. Guess they really do love her! 

There are eight campaign images in total and the photographer is Mikael Jansson. I'll be adding images to the campaign page so stay tuned! You can check out Daria's previous work with DVF under that page or check the DVF tag.

This is also Daria's fifth campaign of fall 2014 - she's also landed Celine and Mango again, and is working with two new brands, AG Denim and Equipment.

Diane Von Furstenberg Spring 2014 Campaign (+ Mango!)

Update The full campaign and behind the scenes video have been posted below! Very similar to the Fall 2013 campaign but considering that campaign was one of my favourites I love that they've continued the seventies glam look.

Daria's campaign count for this spring season is now six, with a reapeat appearance for Diane Von Furstenberg Spring 2014. I really liked the seventies glam of last season so I'm really excited that the brand decided to work with her again.

I also figured this would be a good time to share some unseen HQ shots of the DVF campaign from last season. If I recall correctly I don't think I've shared the last five on this blog but I threw them all in for a little flashback. This campaign was really unexpected but it turned out to be one of my favourites of last season. Hopefully this spring campaign can live up to the last one!

On another note, the Mango campaign is finally here! I'm really liking the look of this, despite the fact that its similar to some of Daria's work like some of her campaigns with Maiyet and Stefanel. Not much else to say other than I can't wait to see these in magazines.

Balenciaga Spring 2014 Ad Campaign by Steven Klein

We definitely called it when Daria surprised us on the Balenciaga runway in Paris all the way back in September - Daria lands the Spring 2014 campaign for Balenciaga photographed by Steven Klein. If the Harper's Bazaar cover wasn't enough to give you a little shock then this certainly is!

Out of all of Daria's recent work this by far is my favourite to date. And thats just from seeing one preview! Yes to something other than textured waves and minimal makeup, yes to this Cruella Deville/Sharon Stone/Daphne Guiness hybrid and yes to a collaboration with Steven Klein! If I recall correctly the last time Daria worked with Klein was in 2007. Much of this past week seems like a throwback to her career doesn't it?

After seeing Daria styled in the same minimal makeup-messy hair countless times (yawn) this is such a refreshing change. See? A little lipstick (and wig?) never hurt anyone! Sometimes more is more! Klein is really telling a story with this image and I think Daria is one of the few models who has the presence to pull this off. Can't wait to see the rest of the images.

On the Salvatore Ferragamo front, here are two new images from the campaign. You can also see all of the campaign images for Ferragamo under the Ad Campaigns page in UHQ. I love the contrast between the colourful images below and Balenciaga's more somber take on spring.

Campaign News: Isabel Marant and Mango (and Céline!!!)

Update The first campaign image for Céline is here!!! Yes, three exclamation points because this is one campaign I anticipate year round, and at the moment everything looks superb, from art direction, to casting, to design layout. I've no time to go into more detail at the moment but will do as soon as more images come out. In the mean time ... !!!

The Isabel Marant spring 2014 campaign leaked, and no surprise here, its Daria for her sixth turn as face of the French brand.

Marant usually follows the same formula when it comes to their campaigns - a girl lounging around in perpetual boredom of some kind of unattainable coolness. For Marant the formula works - maybe I'll look just as cool, and my hair will look as perfectly messy, if I buy those silver lamé pants ... - and usually I'm all for that kind of style - Daria does do nonchalance quite well.

But this time I'm kinda bored, and a little underwhelmed, because really how many times can you run with the same concept (and same model!) without the results becoming staid ... maybe six campaigns. Hopefully the next photos (Marant usually releases three campaign images) will pique my interest but right now I'm about as excited with this campaign as I am for my three hour physics labs this semester. Your thoughts?

On to other news. Below is a preview of the Mango campaign with a behind the scenes video. Excited to see how these images turn out but so far they're reminding me of Daria's Maiyet campaigns. Thats three four campaigns so far for the Spring 2014 season!

Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2014 Ad Campaign

December has got to be by far my favourite month of the year. Every standing structure is insulated by about two meters of snow, paleness is somewhat, although warily, accepted, Christmas is right around the corner ... and despite all of this cold, fashion does a little quantum leap and starts releasing the spring campaigns! 

 

Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2014

As expected, Daria has landed the Spring 2014 Salvatore Ferragamo ad campaign, photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, with a cameo by Sean Opry. 

The Italian fashion house is usually quick to release their campaigns, so its become a bit of a tradition to expect Ferragamo as Daria's first campaign of the season. Nevertheless its great to see her continue working with such a prominent brand. These campaigns are never really groundbreaking for me, but they do a good job of producing a beautiful image. This one especially with the hair and makeup ... I feel like Daria's giving her best Gisele in this campaign! I think we all know by now this woman in the images is a far cry from Daria outside of fashion-land ... and I think thats why I always end up loving these campaigns - they're like a visual testimonial to a great model.

Catching Up

Oop - it's been a while! Sadly I've been too busy to update ... but not so sadly, it seems Daria has been pretty busy too! Here's a rundown on what's been happening in the past few months:

Maiyet wasn't her only campaign as she was one of many faces for the Isabel Marant for H&M line. No surprise there considering Daria has been the Marant campaign girl multiple times in the past ...
