Catching Up

Oop - it's been a while! Sadly I've been too busy to update ... but not so sadly, it seems Daria has been pretty busy too! Here's a rundown on what's been happening in the past few months:

As predicted Daria landed the Fall 2013 Maiyet campaign, photographed by Cass Bird ...

she also showed up in the behind the scenes video for the campaign (thanks for the upload Megan!) ...

Maiyet wasn't her only campaign as she was one of many faces for the Isabel Marant for H&M line. No surprise there considering Daria has been the Marant campaign girl multiple times in the past ...

And it seems like France has been having something of a love affair with Daria as of late as she's appeared in not one but four French magazines in the past three months!

Thats mostly it when it comes to old news! There are a bunch more behind the scenes pictures but I'll be adding those to Behind The Scenes page! But for now lets move on to the newer stuff!

New Maiyet + Lancome Campaigns?

  

Cass shooting for Maiyet, Daria and Cass

Three Maiyet campaigns in a row and it looks like its going on four! This is just some guessing on my part (with the help of some telling photos) but it seems like Daria has landed the Fall 2013 campaign for Maiyet! Cass Bird was seen shooting for the campaign in one of her recent Instagram photos, and Daria was at the shoot as well.

If this is true, then this Maiyet campaign will be Daria's fourth with the brand! She first landed the Spring 2012 campaign and then the next two after.

In other behind the scenes news Lancome posted a photo of Daria trying out the new Lancome by Lanvin pallette. Alber Elbaz, creative director at Lanvin, has collaborated with Lancome in an exclusive collection. No word yet on whether the candid will lead to anything else but I'd love to see his vision translated to a beauty campaign with Daria! Also, a really cute Lancome by Lanvin video, just 'cause.

Jill of All Trades

Whatever we've been lacking in editorials and covers lately, we've certainly made up for it in candids. You've got Instagram to thank for that! Although Daria shies away from other social media she does have a public Instagram account (@dotwillow) which you have to check out if you haven't already.

From a model so decidedly private I'm surprised that Daria chose to make her Instagram open for all to see but I'm glad she did because her photos are beautiful. And if not beautiful then they certainly let us into a clearer picture of the Daria outside of magazine pages - one that is a crazy cat lady, that loves to travel to off the map places, and has a teenage worthy crush of Kurt Cobain. Even Modelinia's noticed!

 

A few of her friends have decided to join the Instagram game - above are photos of Daria taken by friends, Derek Kettela and Kenny Jossick.

Vogue's "Punk Stories" : Behind The Scenes

Vogue recently released an online feature highlighting the punk theme of this years Met Gala. The Met Gala has come and gone but more images are being released of Daria and Cass Bird's contribution to the affair. Cass uploaded a few behind the scenes images to her tumblr which you can see below.

Punk Stories : Daria by Cass Bird

Daria and photographer Cass Bird team up once again for a short video, and this time it's for Vogue's "Punk Stories", a series of web films put out highlighting the recent punk revival in fashion and the theme of this year's Met Gala.

"For our third installment of “Punk Stories,” director Cass Bird shot model Daria Werbowy channeling the many faces and fashions of punk—from a Billy Idol-esque bleached crop to a perfectly spiked and studded leather jacket—see if you can catch all six of her looks in our video." - vogue.com

I love this. I don't think I'll ever get bored of Cass's work with Daria because she's always switching it up. Daria has been modeling for nearly two decades but we had yet to see her channel her inner punk before this video. She definitely pulls off not just the looks but attitude as well. And how awesome does she look behind the microphone?

There were also a few pictures released along with the video, which you can see below. I don't know if they'll ever be in print but I'm assuming this is only for the online website - Vogue can only go so punk!


No word yet on whether or not Daria will be attending this years Met Gala (on May 6) but she's been absent the past two years and big parties aren't really her scene so I doubt it. But for now enjoy the vid!
