Interview September 2014
Daria is on the September issue of Interview magazine, photographed by Mikael Jansson, appearing alongside five other cover stars in the magazine's Photographer Issue.

This is getting a lot of flack online for how "old" Daria looks. Personally I absolutely love how rough this cover is. I've been vocal in the past in wishing that magazines would style Daria in something other than her tomboy style (glamour is good! ... in small doses) but this is something I can stand behind.

WSJ Magazine September 2014
Daria lands the september cover of WSJ Magazine, photographed by Josh Olins and styled in some serious seventies Farrah Fawcett hair.
I love that Daria is now out of her 'comfort zone'. The general consensus is that the boho rocker look she's been sporting in editorials for the past few years is getting stale so this new styling (finally, hair products!) is readily welcomed. Can't wait to see the shoot inside.

The Last Magazine Spring 2014
Daria is on the cover of the Spring 2014 issue of The Last Magazine photographed by Mikael Jansson and styled by Alastair McKimm.

I'm thinking it'll be a good idea to make a post like this again because every work we predicted for Daria has come true! Daria is really everywhere lately but its mostly nice to see her pop up in unexpected magazines like TLM ... i-D did you hear that?
If you don't remember Daria's last turn for TLM (she was on their premier issue!) here it is below. Six years ago ... and now I feel old.

Vogue UK March 2014 Cover
I knew it was only a matter of time before this came out! Daria covers the March 2014 issue of Vogue UK photographed by Mario Testino. It's her second time covering the British version of Vogue in less than a year (her last was in September 2013) and her fifth cover for the magazine overall!

Daria also has two editorials inside (!!), "Rainbow Babes" by Mario Testino and "Cause Célèbre" by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott. Kate Moss styled the latter and it is her debut as fashion editor for the magazine, so this whole issue is a bit of a ... cause célèbre for lack of better words. I'm glad Mossie picked Daria to be in this issue (model friends are the best kind of friends) and judging by the previews below I'm much more excited for Kate's editorial than I am for the cover shoot. Its a shame they had to style Daria in yet another bohemian look for the cover. I don't know what this boycott against eye makeup is, but this styling is seriously getting old. I'll hold my thoughts for the editorial until I see it but the cover is definitely not a favourite.

Harper's Bazaar US February 2014
If the Celine campaign from yesterday deserved three exclamation marks then this post would warrant at least a paragraph of them. Never in a million years did I think Daria would land a US Harper's Bazaar cover but she does just that in the February 2014 issue.
I have to say that in the years (almost 7!) I've spent running this site I would have never guessed Daria would have landed a Harper's Bazaar cover. If anything I'd think it would have been more likeyly during her 2004 heyday when she landed the September 2004 cover of Vogue.
I feel like in the past year the dynamics around the magazine industry have certainly started to shift. People just don't seem to be as enamoured with the celebrity as they were in the decade post 9/11. Last year Kate Upton made it onto the cover of Vogue, and just last month Joan Smalls made it onto Elle. How refreshing is it to see someone on the cover who doesn't have a cookbook to push or a movie to promote? I say let the models reclaim their covers!
Editorial wise its not really the most interesting shoot I've ever seen but I'm just excited to have this issue in my hands. Daria has an interview inside as well which you can read here. ETA: If you didn't think she could be any more awesome she watches Game of Thrones. (Hopefully reads it too!).

New Years from Norway to Korea
Happy New Years everyone! Hope it was a safe and fun time all around. Its only the first day of 2014 but I already have some news to share with you. Daria starts off 2014 with a bang, landing the covers of Costume Norway and the Korean edition of Marie Claire.

Marie Claire Korea is a reprint from Marie Claire France November 2013 issue (and a good reprint at that) but the Costume cover is new material! How fitting is it for New Years celebrations? Its pretty rare to see Daria smiling and glammed up in her shots so this is a welcome change.
There is an editorial inside as well but I only have one picture at the moment. I'll update with the editorial as soon as I find it!

L'Equipe Sport & Style December 2013
I love that the older Daria gets, the more reign she has in the work she produces. Like this sailing themed editorial from L'Equipe Sport & Style. Its no secret that one of Daria's loves in life is sailing and this relationship is portrayed beautifully in this editorial.
Daria was photographed by Mathieu Cesar for the December issue of L'Equipe Sport & Style, in a series of black and white shots taken in Seychelles. Water Girl is seriously so beautiful and its interesting to see another take of Daria doing what she loves most. Plus, anything involving a turtle is pretty awesome by my standards (check out the third image below!).
There is an interview in French as well, and if anyone would like I can translate this, just let me know in the comments!

Catching Up
Oop - it's been a while! Sadly I've been too busy to update ... but not so sadly, it seems Daria has been pretty busy too! Here's a rundown on what's been happening in the past few months:
As predicted Daria landed the Fall 2013 Maiyet campaign, photographed by Cass Bird ...
she also showed up in the behind the scenes video for the campaign (thanks for the upload Megan!) ...
Maiyet wasn't her only campaign as she was one of many faces for the Isabel Marant for H&M line. No surprise there considering Daria has been the Marant campaign girl multiple times in the past ...
She also had a small beauty editorial in Marie Claire Russia, with behind the scenes images from Lancome by Barwerd van der Plas.
